Laguna Beach mtn/road riding

Dave and I headed out to Laguna on Thursday for a bit of road and mountain biking. I have a cheapie Schwinn that I picked up from Craigslist for $75. I figured it was cheaper than renting a bike for a couple days. Even with that in mind, I thought I had made a mistake because I took it out for a test ride Tuesday and came back with a thorn that flattened the front tire. But it's nothing a patch can't fix.

Anyway, all of us here know the OC since we've done the SART. PCH is good riding. But this time, we checked out some of the state parks to see what kind of mountain bike action they have. El Moro is pretty sweet. People must go through and grade those trails weekly because they are almost as smooth as the road. Now, some hardcore guys would probably look down at that, thinking it's the deep grooves and rocky conditions that really make it mountain biking. Yeah. Okay. Believe me, there are nice sharp declines out there that more than make up for the lack of rough terrain. It was fun. That's all I care.

Enjoy...
